History & Approach

In March 2019, Tappo Restaurant and Thin Man Brewery teamed up to bring you a new concept and experience in the emerging Chandler Street neighborhood. Tappo and Chef Phil Limina has proudly served Buffalo quality Italian food in a vibrant dining setting since 2013. Thin Man Brewery was established in Buffalo in 2016 and has quickly become a world-class brewery lead by Mike Shatzel. Together, Tappo Pizza/Thin Man Brewery occupies the first floor of 166 Chandler Street–part of Rocco Termini’s Chandler Street Revitalization Project.

Our 6,500 sq ft taproom and dining area is spacious and great for accommodating guests. You can taste up to 12 different craft beers brewed right next door by Master Brewer, Rudy Watkins. Coveted new releases are frequently available at this location. Our signature wood-fired pizzas stand out from the competition by utilizing a 3-day fermentation process. The high-temp of our brick ovens nicely blisters the crust and gives it that smokey flavor and crispy edges while keeping the center of the dough light and fluffy. Sourcing ingredients from local purveyors that Tappo Group has utilized for the better part of a decade, we maintain top-quality and optimal freshness.

When circumstances allow, we will resume events and live local music. We frequently hosts Jazz Nights and DJs on the weekends. We have two patio areas for you to enjoy and can’t wait to reopen them to enjoy soon.
